COVID 19 Information

Now we are reopening No.45 Bed and Breakfast again for business, we would like to highlight the following initiatives and processes that we have put into place, to ensure our guests and our own safety. We have restricted our maximum guests to four, per night. We have worked extremely diligently to ensure that we comply 100% with the current government guidelines, procedures and processes.

Good To GO Scotland Certificate


With reference to the possibility of a new infection, we are unable to accept bookings where at least 48 hours notice is not given. (Please contact us by telephone for further details). When a booking request is received with 48 hours or more notice and we are able to accept the booking, then we will email all guests a “guest registration form”. This must be fully completed and returned to us to enable us to confirm the booking and send out a booking confirmation.

Social Distancing & Hygiene

We will stay at least 1 metre from all our guests at all times. On guest arrival we ask that all guests use the hand sanitizer gel (70% Alcohol) which is available at the front door and is also available in the bedrooms.

Room and Bathroom Cleaning

All rooms will be deep cleaned before guests arrival. Flash liquid and a light bleach solution (0.5% dilution) will be used on all hard surfaces. All laundry will be carried out through a hot water wash (60oC) with the addition of a light bleach solution and regular laundry detergent. In normal circumstances we clean our bedrooms every day, unfortunately, during this COVID 19 pandemic we will not be able to do so. If our guests stay with us for five or more days, then on day five the room and bathroom will be deep cleaned. For stays less than five days then the room will be deep cleaned on departure. All touch points outside of the rooms will be sterilized twice daily. All public areas will be cleaned and sterilized daily.


Our normal policy is to fully change the bed linen on day five of any guests stay. This policy will stay in place. Our normal policy on towel changes is to change all towels every four days unless a specific guest request to change towels is made. This policy will now be changed to “replacing towels on day five, unless you request an earlier towel change”. All laundry will be carried out through a hot water wash (60oC) with the addition of a light bleach solution and regular laundry detergent.

Here at No.45 Bed and Breakfast we are justifiably proud of our breakfasts, that are freshly made to order each morning, to our guests requirements and served in the dining room. Unfortunately due to social distancing requirements we are unable to serve breakfast in the dining room. Therefore we will supply each guest with a superb breakfast tray, guests will be given a breakfast menu the night before, where they can choose from fresh orange juice, selection of teas, fresh cafetiere coffee, selection of yogurts, fresh fruit salad, whole meal or white toast, hot crumpets, hot butter croissants with butter, marmalade and jams. The breakfast tray will be delivered to your room at the time you have requested on the breakfast pre order menu.

Daily Procedures

We respectfully request that guests leave their waste paper bucket, breakfast tray and tea/coffee tray outside their bedroom door when they leave for the day. We will empty and sterilize the waste paper bucket, before returning it to outside the guests room door. Breakfast trays will be cleaned and sterilized for use the following day. On the day of departure we ask that all guests open the room windows to allow the room to be aired before we carry out the room deep clean.

Infection control and notification

If any of our guests develop Covid 19 symptoms or are asymptomatic before they arrive at No.45 Bed and Breakfast, then they should please contact us immediately, we will issue a full deposit refund (if a deposit was taken) and cancel the booking. We are more than happy to rebook at a future date.

If any of our guests develop Covid 19 symptoms or are showing signs of being asymptomatic within 14 days of their departure from No.45 Bed and Breakfast, then we respectfully ask that they immediately inform us, in order for us to instigate the correct policies and procedures as per the current government guidelines.
